Title: LCDHost preventing main display power off
Post by: eoh7678 on 2014-05-30 00:39:28
Since updating to Windows 8.1 a month or so ago, LCDHost (all versions I've tried) is preventing my monitors from powering down at the set interval.

I've tried disabling plugins, running power reports, etc, but nothing seems to help.

If I set the turn off screen setting to 1 minute with LCDHost not running, the screens turn off 1 minute later.  If LCDHost is running, the screens never turn off.

Any ideas?

I have tried as you suggested uninstalling the 64-bit version and using the 32-bit version.  Same problem.

Set screensaver timeout to 1 minute.  After 1 minute, screensaver comes on.

Run LCDHost, screensaver never comes on anymore.

Right click LCDHost icon and click quit.  Exactly 1 minute later, screensaver kicks on as normal.

This is on a fresh installed Windows 8.1 64-bit with no other apps (except LGS) installed.

This is a fairly old problem (http://forum.linkdata.se/lcdhost-discussion/problem-lcdhost-and-screensaver-513.0.html). My screensaver still refuses to work (although it does work ONCE in a blue moon.... and only ONCE does it work and decide to enter screensaver mode).

If anyone has a solution to this problem, please let me know...

I'm running Windows 7 64bit, Alpha 37 32-bit.

forgive me if my explanation is not clear but I have to translate.
LCDhos the installation does not create any vercion screensaver.
if you mean pictures showing your design, then try the all are with where I think the design file.
everything has queir in the same folder.
if it refers to windows screensaver, right click the  screen and in the window that opens will ha personalize  , and there comes out the options to disable the screen saver.

I don't want to disable my screensaver, I want it to run while LCDHost is running. I'm having the exact issue that eoh7678 is having:

"Set screensaver timeout to 1 minute.  After 1 minute, screensaver comes on.

Run LCDHost, screensaver never comes on anymore.

Right click LCDHost icon and click quit.  Exactly 1 minute later, screensaver kicks on as normal."

Only in Windows 7 64bit, not 8.1 64bit.

It has been like this since at least version A25. I'm currently on 32-bit version of A37.

Do you know if your setup is the same.
But if loess follow these steps and try it.
1 Right click on the screen customization
2 Protective screen click.
3 Click to change power settings.
4 edit plan settings, open and select the des folding (never) in the two options. I give in (to save changes) if he does not keep the settings not wait.
5 click Change plan settings and (never) set what I show you in the picture.
When you miss these changes to try to change the screen saver
I can put an image capture how is your setup like this I show you.

Any update on this?

I'm having the exact same issue. Win 8.1 x64, no screensaver, display set to turn off after 10 minutes. If LCDHost is running, it never turns off.

Thanks, I didn't know this existed. Running 'powercfg -requests' shows None for everything, unfortunately, but something is still keeping my displays on.

Bummer. I was almost certain that would fix it.  :(

Thank you. I have tried all those options and my settings are correct. If LCDhost isn't running my displays turn off fine, and if LCDhost is running they always stay on.

Still having the same exact problem here.  Have tried every suggestion- run energy reports, tried powercfg, nothing works.

If I run LCDHost with ANY layout, screensaver never comes on.  If I close it, the screensaver works fine.

Due to other circumstances, I was forced to do a fresh install of Windows 7. The screensaver worked for like, the first week or so... then suddenly it stopped activating. Every once in a blue moon while the screensaver will work, but 99.9% of the time it will NOT work.

Same results with the powercfg -requests. Everything says "none".

I'm still having the same issue.

If I lock my computer (so I'm at the windows password prompt), the screen will turn off, while LCDhost continues to run. This is my workaround so far instead of shutting down LCDhost, but is still manual as the computer doesn't lock itself even though the setting for that is on.

has someone found a workaround for this ?
I think that is something related to shared memory, as if i disable sharedmemory export in aida64, even if lcdhost is opened, the screensaver runs.

Hi,

As per the query you are trying to set the monitors to sleep after 10 min of inactivity and after 10 min you see all the application were on the main/primary monitor.

Please provide us the below information.
1. What is the make and model of your Computer?
2. Which windows 10 build are you using?
3. Do you get any specific error code?

The issue might be occurring due to corrupted display drivers.

Lets update the display drivers :

1. Press Windows key + R, to open the run command.2. Type "devmgmt.msc" and press enter to open device manager.

3. Expand "display adapter".

4. Right-click on the driver and click on Update Driver Software.

5. Your computer should find and automatically install the updated driver.
6. After the installation is complete, Restart your computer.

Keep us informed with the status of the issue.

We are here are to assist you.

I've been having this problem since I switched to win10.
Current win10 build is 1809, but also had it on 1803 and previous builds.

Display adapter driver is updated (Nvidia Geforce 1070GTX).
