Yahoo changed weather.api

To increase the security measure and better serving our YDN customers, weather data source will enforce OAuth 1 starting March 15, 2016. Please update your API calls with OAuth 1 enabled (via the OAuth /v1/yql end point if using YQL) using your Yahoo App key and secret.

For the past couple of weeks they've been changing some stuff and plugin been barely working at all, and now the locations are not being recognized.

I realize that the developer stopped working on this software but perhaps he or someone else can update the plugin or tell us how to modify the code so it would work again?

On the other hand it might be down again. Yahoo developer forums are down and weather api page doesn't even open.

Weather API is back up, think they were doing work on all their developer resources yesterday, as I had issues as well when I was trying to access a hosted CSS file there.
The plugins are all written in C++. Wish I had learned it

I've not seen anything about the service being shut. I have seen that yahoo just aggregates data from third-party sources and implements it into its API. The sources used are not publicly known.
I'm thinking that the plugin may just need either a modification or rewrite to use OAuth. If I knew how to implement it in C++/Qt I would take a stab at it, but I don't. I can just open the code and look at it and see that the requests are being made to http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss to pull the XML data, and that the query does not pass due to missing OAuth key/implementation.

i hope this helps someone willing to dive into the code and get the broken plugins working

From what i understand the source code doesn't build so the plugin can't be updated, even with the source to both lcdhost and the weather plugin
